[EVENTS] Green Man Festival

The day started with a not so promising sky to our dismay, however, when you live by the sea, looks can be deceiving. The sun burned right through those clouds and warmed our little island up just in time for our very first Green Man Festival.

Logan found one of his buddies as soon as we stepped out of the car, so off he went to take in the festivities on his own (sniff sniff...big boy). The little lady and I had much to do on our agenda - first stop, face painting. The big decision...are you going to root for Green Man in favour of summer or are you more of a cool weather gal, and side with the Ice Queen in favour of winter. To my surprise, Chloe opted to be a little icicle (probably because there's less icky bugs in the winter). Logan was on team Green Man all the way - and so the epic battle of the day began.

Of course, Chloe could not be totally icy, and decided to 'spring up' her ensemble with a beautiful handmade flower wand (pink and purple of course).

Next, some wonderful entertainment from the Black Sheep - super fun, loud and crazy as always...

...and some delicious vegetable stew to fill our bellies before battle.

Now it was time for the Ice Queen and the Green Man to battle it out. The little icicles and buds played their parts beautifully. In the end, summer prevailed and we all marched to the May Pole accompanied by the May Queen. Logan watched, while Chloe gladly took a ribbon to weave around the pole.

What a magical afternoon of friends, fairies, princesses, good food and sunshine. Love my little island.
